Acerca de
A club for boaters, both sail and power, who love to cruise the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes Cruising Club (GLCC) was founded in 1934 to share cruising information and foster fellowship among its members. After over eighty-five years, this is still our core purpose. Today, GLCC members flying our distinctive blue and white burgee are ready to befriend those in need and share their knowledge about Great Lakes cruising. Our members’ collective experience on the Great Lakes and connecting waterways also provide great material for boating discussions and stories, wherever we get together. While we have lots of events for members, including our annual Rendezvous, as well as regional rallies, flotilla cruises, and social events, most GLCC gatherings just happen, because several members just find themselves in the same anchorage at the same time. We like having fun together! You can find GLCC members home-ported in over 400 Canadian and U.S. harbors within the Great Lakes system. About 200 members serve as GLCC Port Captains. These dedicated individuals take special care of members who visit their harbours. They are a great resource, especially when you are cruising outside your normal area. Each member has access to the knowledge and experiences of all 2500 GLCC members though the GLCC website, which contains our collection of over 1000 Harbour Reports, covering almost every port and anchorage in the Great Lakes. These reports contain detailed observations, compiled over decades by our members that are constantly updated based on personal visits. The result is an extensive and authoritative cruising guide for the Great Lakes and connecting waterways.
